Chennai Super Kings was serving two years of suspension in Indian Premier League after it's owners were allegedly involved in spot-fixing and betting case in the IPL 2013. Chennai Super Kings is a franchise Team representing City of Chennai in Tamil Nadu state. There is no doubt in stating that Chennai Super Kings is the most popular team with the biggest fan base in the Indian Premier League. Chennai Super Kings is a two times Indian Premier League title holder, they have won the IPL title in the 3rd and 4th edition of IPL. Chennai Super Kings are well known for giving consistently tough competition to all their opponents.

This year, Chennai Super Kings retained their three players i.e. MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja. Dhoni is known for his brilliant captaincy! With the addition of Shane Watson, Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir in the squad, Chennai Super King's journey can take an interesting move in this season of IPL. Chennai Super Kings failed to retain Ravichandran Ashwin but they still have Harbhajan Singh to replace him, who proved his skills both in bowling as well as in batting in the previous editions. Mitchell Santner is ruled out of IPL owing to an injury.

In this 11th Edition of Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings is going to play its first match against Mumbai Indians on 7th April in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
