CENTURION, SOUTH AFRICA – South Africa host touring side Australia in the first game of their two match test series starting in Centurion on Wednesday. Australia begin the game as the side with the momentum, having beaten their hosts 2-1 in their recent one-day series, but South Africa remain slight favourites to win at 7/4 (bet £4 to make £7 profit) with bet365. Australia defeated Sri Lanka in a successful tour of the subcontinent earlier this year, as newly appointed skipper Michael Clarke demonstrated high levels of tactical nous and flair for captaincy. The selectors will hope that he can fare equally well against the South African test side. Australia’s most dangerous batsman is deemed to be Ricky Ponting by the bookmakers - the man who Clarke has replaced as team captain.
